HOW TO BEGIN
You have been ordered by Family Court, Childrens Court, Criminal Court, or DCFS to attend parenting classes or parent counseling. The process begins with you contacting me. It's easiest if you send me an email because it allows us to, depending on the situation, either coordinate a time to talk briefly on the phone or to just go ahead and set up an initial consultation appointment. If you prefer to call and leave a voice-mail, that's completely fine as well. Either way, I'll get back to you as soon as possible and we can proceed from there.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE FIRST PARENTING SESSION
The first parenting session is an opportunity for us to discuss what brings you to parenting sessions and how you want things to be different in your life. In this initial conversation, you are getting a chance to see if working with me feels like a good fit for you.
I take great care to ensure that all potential new clients of mine feel comfortable and supported to express themselves as they wish. There are no lengthy forms to fill out, and there's no pressure to tell me everything there is to know about you.
WHAT ARE THE FEES
I work on a sliding scale fee structure. This means that if your life circumstances currently prevent you from being able to afford my full fee, call me anyway; we can review your situation together and discuss options for a reduced fee. If for some reason I am not able to accommodate your needs, I will work with you to find a therapist who can.
